What’s new in Listenara 1.0.1

This maintenance update makes downloading and installing the app clearer, gives the optional Codex skill a simpler setup guide, and explains releases and privacy more plainly.

Your existing Library and license continue to work as before. Codex remains optional, with no embedded AI provider or automatic upload.

Requirements

• Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later).
• macOS 26.4 or later.
• Only the macOS permissions needed for the source you choose. Speech Recognition is required for transcription.

Language support

Listenara shows Arabic, English, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Portuguese (Brazil), and Spanish in the Transcribe and Translate menus.

Actual transcription and translation availability depends on Apple Speech and Apple Translation support on your Mac. Translation may require installed Apple Translation language models.

Listenara 1.0.1 is the current published release.

Install or update the app

1. Download the Mac app DMG above.
2. Open the DMG and drag Listenara.app to Applications.
3. If you already have Listenara in Applications, choose Replace when Finder asks.

Replacing the app keeps your existing Library and license. The DMG updates only the Mac app; it does not update the optional Codex skill.

Using Listenara with Codex? Only Codex users also need to download and install the separate Listenara Skill ZIP.

Before the first launch

Because Listenara is distributed independently and is not notarized by Apple, macOS may show an unidentified-developer warning the first time you open it. This is expected.
