AI Integration
Use Listenara with Codex.
Listenara works as a normal Mac app without AI. The optional AI skill tells Codex how to open Listenara, use the audio source you choose, and avoid reading transcript text unless you ask.
Open Listenara yourself
- Install
Listenara.appin Applications. - Open
Listenara.app. - Listenara opens its local preview and control page.
- Choose Microphone or System Audio, then start when you are ready.
Add the optional AI skill
The skill is not required to use Listenara. It is recommended if you want Codex to open the preview and run the right local commands.
- Download and unzip the Listenara AI skills package.
- For Codex, copy
codex/listenarato your Codex skills folder, usually~/.codex/skills/listenara. - Restart Codex if it does not detect new skills automatically.
What to type in Codex
Run Listenara.Opens the local preview and control page. It should not start recording.Start Listenara with microphone transcription.Start Listenara with system audio transcription.Start Listenara with system audio and translate to Arabic.Summarize my latest Listenara session.Use this only when you want the assistant to read transcript text.
What the skill does
For Run Listenara, the skill tells Codex to run listenara preview --json and open the returned local preview URL inside the Codex browser or preview.
For recording, Codex should use microphone or system audio only after you ask for that source. It should not open Safari or Chrome automatically unless you ask.
Privacy boundary
Launching Listenara and opening the local preview keeps transcription and translation local on your Mac. If you ask Codex to read, summarize, rewrite, or transform transcript text, that text may enter the Codex chat context.
